It's Friday and time for Seven Quick Takes with Jen.

Crock Pot Pepper Steak
I read about this on someone's blog, and for the life of me cannot remember who.  Sorry!  We tried this recipe this week with some home grown orange bell peppers and served over rice it was amazing! Definitely a keeper.

{2} We have a ladies NFL league within our family.  Basically, our teams are selected at random, and we can pay to trade.  We pay $20, and whoever wins the Superbowl gets the pot!  Well, I had the 49ers last year, and I got the Saints this year.  I cannot say I'm not a bit tied to the Niners still, but I'm loving rooting for another winning team.  Plus getting to sport this little number might help:

This may or may not be an outtake for an attempt at a Christmas card photo.  Peter's hair had a bit of cinnamon roll icing caked in it from breakfast.  Oh well.

I have never seen Duck Dynasty.  However a friend of mine has a friend who has been putting Duck Dynasty packages together for soldiers.  We volunteered to cover the beards in the packages.  While we maybe should have made the beards as a fun project, we instead ordered these:

I think they're fun, and hopefully they'll make a soldier's day a little more uplifting!

Are your kids dressing up for Halloween?  Carter has been saying different things he wants to be, but last year was a disaster with a capital D.  So, I don't know whether or not I should buy costumes and try again or wait another year.

Have you seen Now You See Me?  It is one I really had to pay attention to, and it moves quickly, but I really liked it!

What are your weekend plans?  I'm hoping to watch a little of this, maybe bake this and enjoy a sweet three-year-old's birthday party!
