7 Quick Takes: Sisters, Godchildren and an Accident

It's Friday's 7 Quick Takes with Jen again...
7 quick takes sm1 7 Quick Takes about parenting fails, Evernote socks, and fruitcake (again)

{1} We have finally (after two weeks) had an accident-free day with Peter.  I cannot tell you how wonderful that was.  He is getting it, people!  Yay for diapers only for one.

{2} I finally decided to link up with Grace and write Jeremy and my love story.  Part I and Part II have been posted.  Part III comes Monday.

{3} We're becoming godparents of our fourth godchild tomorrow.  This sweet girl is being baptized, and there is no greater honor that being asked to be a spiritual role model for a child.  God help us.

{4} I am seeing this girl this weekend.  Her visits always make life even better.  I love you sweet Rozann.

{5} This little dude turns two next week.  Impossible, I know.

{6} Jeremy got in a ranching accident last week.  He ended up on the ground and his horse backed up over him.  The horse stepped on his calf.  Luckily, that is as good as it could have been, considering.  He is getting back to normal, and his legs are slowly becoming the same size again.  It was quite the scare in terms of how bad it really could have been.  We're so thankful it wasn't worse!

{7} I'm sure you read her blog, but if you missed Susan's post about answering the common question, "Are you done?" check it out.  You will be glad you did.  Isn't she beautiful through and through?!
Along those lines, don't miss this one either.

Have a great weekend.  I know we will!  And read up on everyone else's quick takes here!

  1. This is like too much stuff in one post. My head is spinning. HOW can Peter be 2?!? HOW?? And I didn't know Rozann was coming home! So jealous! That will be so much fun. Your Goddaughter is absolutely precious. So, so grateful that Jeremy is okay. Bless his heart!

  4. Oh my, having a horse step on you is bad stuff. I had a horse stomp on me when I was a child and it took me years to regain my confidence around horses. I'm sure that won't happen to your Army Ranger husband though! Looking forward to the final episode of your "how we fell in love" story - it IS a real cliff hanger!

  5. I cannot wait to catch up and to read you and Jeremy's love story! And thank you for sharing Susan's story!! I don't have children yet, but I am seriously considering quitting my very stressful-fulltime career to begin the process of starting a family... and eventually becoming a stay-at-home mom. Already, people are throwing their judgmental opinions at me. Mainly, I hear, "you are SO smart and such a hard worker. Why are you doing this? You will be miserable!" If it weren't for my hubby's reassurance, I might give into their advise. But the truth is that at the end of the day, you have to make choices that you feel are right... and that you feel God is leading you towards. People will always tell you that you are making the wrong choice, because it isn't their choice to make. They aren't living your life or feeling the call God has placed on your life. And we will be miserable if we let ourselves listen to all those voices instead of doing what we know is right. :)

    1. Hey Nicole - thanks for the sweet comment. I can tell you this (which you probably already know), children are such a blessing, and while I'm sure everyone will always have those "what if" moments, there isn't anything I'd rather do than be home with the kids. It is tough, yet it is so rewarding. I know you have to be so incredibly smart and talented, and you are using those gifts at that point in your life. If you choose to stay home, they will just be redirected. I will be praying for you!
