7 Quick Takes

Linking up with Jen today at Conversion Diary for...

--- 1 ---
This is what we found in the pens yesterday morning:
My brother's mare had her baby!

--- 2 ---
One of our little activities this week:

We planted the flowers that were in the Easter baskets.  I failed to mention to Peter that the sunflowers were not to be eaten!  Oh, and I also failed to wipe Carter's face :)

--- 3 ---
This little guy has started to spit up.  And, this is how we all feel about it...

Seriously, I know spitting up is normal.  But, this is the not-so-normal-let's-change-your-clothes-five-times-a-day kind of spit up.  Right after a bottle.  Right before a bottle.  Nowhere near a bottle.  Puddles on the floor.  Wet sheets.  I know life could be much worse, and I'll take this over so many things!  Both of his brothers started a little before six weeks and went until a year old.  I just thought this guy had been saved from the same fate!

--- 4 ---
Has anyone been to this conference?  If so, what are your thoughts?  We're thinking about homeschooling and thought this might be worth going to.  I'm seriously in the dark other than having read a few books and having talked to veteran moms.

--- 5 ---
I made biscuits for Carter this week for breakfast.  His response: "Mommy, you're and angel.  Just like all the angels in Heaben."

I put him down for a nap yesterday: "Mommy wait!"  I walk back to his bed.  "You're a good Mommy."

I'll take it.

--- 6 ---
I highly recommend this book for little ones:

We read about a saint daily, and they LOVE it!

--- 7 ---

Finally, I don't know what I'd do without this man:

He is the best dad, husband, and friend.  And, he takes such good care of all of us.  My friend even noticed and wrote about it here.

  2. This reminds me I have a half written email to you about our experience with homeschooling, forgive this terrible procrastinator! I have been to that conference in several places, you should really go, will give you tons to think about, but beware, it will be hard to decide against homeschooling after going.

Congrats to the mare! Job well done!

  3. #1 SO CUTE!!!

And I've heard those conferences are awesome - I need to go, maybe next year... But the kids are young enough that I'm still not *quite* feeling the imminent pressure!

  4. Oh, I know what you mean about the spitting up. My two little guys have both done it. Thankfully they do grow out of it, but for a few months I feel like all I do is clean up projectile baby puke. I could identify that "splat" on a floor anywhere!!!
I'm going to a homeschooling conference (though not that particular one)near here at the end of May. We haven't decided what to do yet but we do need to decide soon as our eldest will be in kindergarten this fall. Maybe an amazing and affordable Catholic school will open next door by then? A girl can dream, right??!!
