I am joining Jen this week for...
{1} I cannot believe I forgot to add this to my Five Favorites post from this week. So, here it is now. I received this little "egg" for my iPhone in my stocking for Christmas. It basically serves as a speaker for your iPhone, and I love it when I'm exercising. The amazing thing about it is that it just amplifies the sound...no electricity of any kind necessary. Cool or what?!
{2} Lucky for me, I read Katrina's post about her delicious fried quinoa (what I pronounced as qui-no-ah until recently) before I had started dinner last night. I did a few different veggies and scrambled the egg into the mix just because it was easier, but I'm here to tell you it's really tasty! Here's her picture:
{3} Sometimes I forget we have a really literal kid on our hands. Last week, as I was bathing the boys, I told Carter to remind me to brush his teeth every day so they don't turn yellow and fall out (I forget more than I should). Sidenote: they love to play with toothbrushes. Well, I went on to bathe the other two, and Carter yelled that he needed a toothbrush. I told him to be patient and I would get one after I was finished washing the boys. He kept yelling it louder and louder (mind you, I had already forgotten what I said). I kept asking him to be patient. Finally, I raised my voice telling him to wait. Big tears rolled down his cheeks as he said, "My teeth are about to fall out!!!" Every time he'd smile in the mirror a few days afterwards, he would cry. I felt terrible. However, we are sure brushing a lot of teeth lately!
{4} I've been reading this book lately:
It is so good and something I need so much! It's short and broken into very small chapters, meant for multiple settings, and I would highly recommend it!
{5} MiMi got the boys a Party in the Tub (the commercial is annoying, beware) this week, and it's been fun. It's basically somewhat like a strobe light for the tub, but tamer.
Carter loves/hogs it.
{6} I'm running out of takes. Here were the other two bath companions...
{7} I'm a Blacklist fan. But this week was just extra disturbing. Anyone else watch?
Head over to Jen's for more of everyone's quick takes, and have an awesome weekend!
Poor hilarious Carter!!! Bath time looks pretty fun at your house - might just have to go get one of those Party in the Tubs! The Kreeft book sounds good too. I always mean to pray and incorporate into my day but I'm lucky if I remember my morning offering and nighttime prayer... how bad is that?! And yes, we are a big fan of The Blacklist but this week certainly served as a reminder that Red is not a good guy. My hope is that the more time he spends with Elizabeth the more he will change and eventually repent. It may end up being a repentance that does not emerge until he's on death's door but I do hope the show allows for redemption. All that being said, I can't wait for the next episode!
ReplyDeleteI know! I have to be so careful of what I say these days - yikes! The Party in the Tub is entertaining for awhile. It keeps them from splashing for a few minutes, haha. Oh, I'm with you on the prayer. I'm working on it though! Okay, so Blacklist was better this week, don't you think!?
DeleteThanks for the book recommendation. And the quinoa with fried egg sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteYAY! I am glad you liked it. And poor Carter! What a cutie. Ryan likes to hide our toothbrushes.
