Blue Apron for the Win

So, I know I'm not the first person (or the thousandth) to talk about Blue Apron.  And, this isn't a sponsored post.  But my sweet friend Jenna posted online that she had a few trial codes for Blue Apron, and I jumped at the offer!  Up until the past few months or so, they didn't deliver here.  But, now they do.  That may be both a bad and good thing.

Here is what arrived on my doorstep last week...

I had never eaten a parsnip, let alone cook with one.

I am such a sucker for great packaging (yet what's so ironic is I don't spend any time/effort when I package something myself).

Look at the attention to detail...they label every single thing AND they send you step-by-step photo recipes and a fun little extra blurb - this one was about parsnips.

The two recipes they sent were Orange-Glazed Meatballs and Apple Cider-Glazed Chicken.  I typically don't do well with Asian food (headaches), and I'm not always one for sweet tasting things that are supposed to be salty in my opinion (like honey baked ham).  But, I vowed to follow the recipes to a T.

Orange-glazed meatballs were up first, including another ingredient I had never tried...bok choy.

It was an easy recipe - all I had to use from my kitchen was olive oil, salt and pepper!
I loved it!  Ginger, and all!  And, Sophie ate it, too.  It was a win.
The other recipe I made the next day and didn't take photos until the end.  Here is was...

Jeremy loved this one, and so did a few of the kids!  I liked it but would have preferred it with chicken breasts instead of thighs.

Honestly, it was so fun.  We tried things that weren't on our typical menu, and everything was measured out with step-by-step instructions.  I loved the whole experience, and we might just try it again soon!

Thanks Jenna!
