A Superhero Kind of Day

RoRo and Sean came home for Thanksgiving.  When Carter found out Sean was coming, he asked if he could talk to him.  So, I called my sister up, and here's how the convo went:

"Hi WoWo, where's Sean?  I need to talk to Sean."
(speaker phone switched on)
"Hi Sean.  Are you bwinging me a pwesent?"
(RoRo and Sean laughing)
"Will you?  Please?  Okay, bye Sean."

Yes, he did that.  However, RoRo has brought him a present every time she's seen him, so it's become something he expects.  Yikes!

Nevertheless, they showed up with these bad boys, and the boys were thrilled:

Real superheros don't smile while in character.
 Blurry but so cute...
Then, those superheros helped make Thanksgiving Day one to remember.  They saw the relish tray and immediately asked to take it into the living room for the "best picnic ever."

We let them.

As the turkey was finishing up, Jeremy started a "projeck" with them...

Then it was time to eat, and eat, and eat a little more...
I've never made my own chicken stock...
And we tried a very different turkey recipe this year, and it happened to be one of the most moist (moistest?) turkeys we've ever had (what luck)!
Our first Thanksgiving meal as a small family wasn't too shabby.  Even this guy quietly enjoyed it (he didn't make a peep all day long...

The boys were stuffed...

...and we had so much to be thankful for!

Have a great weekend!

  1. HA! I will never forget that superhero face. No smiles, no sirree.

  2. They are precious. I seriously love this. That Roro is too much fun!!
