20 | 21: Week 3 - The End and My Thoughts

Well, that went quickly.  I expected it to drag a bit, but not at all!  I think part of it is,the fact that I typically wear the same things anyway.  I'm kind of a creature of habit.  And, if I didn't have to photograph what I wore daily, I might wear even fewer pieces.  Who knows.  I did love the capsule wardrobe.  It was easy to quickly get dressed in the mornings, and to feel good in most of it. However, I will say I might need to invest in a full-length mirror.  Some things that I wore didn't look quite like I imagined they did, ha!

Here's what I learned...as much as I love ankle boots, I think the taller boots look better on me.  I wear a lot of cardigans.  I think I'd have maybe another pair of jeans in the next capsule to add a bit more variety.  I think I needed a long fitted tee in this one.  There were a couple of days that I didn't get out of my workout clothes after the morning workout like I had hoped (mainly because the workout didn't end up happening in the morning and by the time it did, I said to heck with changing). I don't accessorize very much at all.  I think I change the pair of earrings I wear every few months, and that initial necklace hasn't come off since Christmas.  The gray sweater isn't as cute as it is comfy.  I think I've found my new favorite black dress.

I'll probably add a few more pieces if I do a longer capsule...say a capsule for an entire season.  I think for Spring, I would add a few more dresses, a pair or two of sandals, and probably a couple more tops.  Spring around here is so unpredictable.  However, I do think I'll try to create a new capsule soon.  But...I won't be documenting it.  Not a huge fan of taking these photos - hats off to all of you fashion bloggers!

One of the workout days...

That was fun!  Have you tried it?  What are your staples?

20 | 21 Week 1

One week down with this mini capsule wardrobe.  And, I wore six different outfits.  One day, I put my gym clothes on early to work out.  And, I think I maybe worked out at 4pm, and I never changed. Happens more than I'd like to admit, ha!  And, some days the gym clothes are on but I have no workout to show for it (most days, really).  But, I'm trying!!

Here's week one...

Honestly, it's been fun, and not hard.  But, I don't work outside of the home, so I think that makes it a bit easier for me.  And, I've never been one to have to wear something different all the time.  I am more of the kind that could wear the same shirt every day for a week, ha!  So, if  you see these same outfits next week, you've been warned.

Tomorrow I'm talking about some amazing cleaning products that are kid-friendly...and there might be a giveaway involved.  Stay tuned!

20 Items | 21 Days

So, I did it.  Finally.

I decided to try a capsule wardrobe.  I am just trying it, so this challenge seemed perfect.

I had to chose 20 items from my closet for 21 days.  This includes shoes but does not include accessories or work-out gear.

Plus, I feel like I must make a disclaimer.  My pre-pregnancy jeans aren't fitting quite like I'd like them to yet (read: they are barely buttoned), so I've included two Blanqi support tanks in my items that I didn't count.  Really, they are there to hold my maternity pants up, so I have to have them!  Plus, I did this in about an hour.  So, hopefully it is a success and I can maybe continue it!

Here is my break-down:

4 bottoms:
1.  Distressed skinny jeans.
2.  Black skinny jeans.
3.  Dark skinny jeans (similar)
4.  Black leggings.

5 Shoes:
1.  Gold heels (similar).
2.  Riding boots.
3.  Ankle boots (similar).
4.  Warm boots (similar).
5.  Sneakers

3 Dresses:
2.  Navy dress

2 Cardigans:
1.  Long gray cardigan (similar)
2.  Mid-length oatmeal cardigan (similar)

6 Tops:
2.  Gray high-low top (similar)
5.  Flannel tunic (similar)
Here's to wearing what you love, spending less time deciding and simplifying!  I'm hoping to take daily photos and do a wrap-up in the end.  Stay tuned!
