Friday's Thoughts and Links: Twitter, Fencing & Photos

Jeremy had a little fence fixing to do this past week.  The boys wanted to help.  So, he gathered them all up, and let them help look for rocks as he tied up the wire.

We're going to the pumpkin patch today, and we're sure to come home with more pumpkins than any family really needs, but I love it!  And, I love watching the boys plow through the rows and rows of pumpkins on the vine to find their "perfect" picks.  This patch is a couple of fields worth of pumpkins of every shape, size and color.  Here we come!

Yesterday, I read this on Lauren's blog.  Mother Teresa sure knew how to love, didn't she?!  These seven tips are some I want, and need, to incorporate into my daily life.

On a completely unrelated note, I joined Twitter.  And, I cannot tell you why.  I'm sensing my learning curve might be pretty steep.  I want to follow you, so leave your Twitter name in the comments! Please :)

If you follow me on Instagram or are my friend on Facebook, you've already seen a lot of these. But, I'm in the process of editing a little family photo shoot I did, and it's been so fun!  I've got a TON left to learn, but I really enjoy it.  Who wouldn't with these subjects, though?  If I do another post after I'm completely finished editing, don't say I didn't warn you!

And look who came to enjoy the shoot as well...
Did you read Susan's installment on Kate's blog?  Ummm, such good advice!  And, such a wonderful series!  Truth be told, my first reaction was sadness...that shows where I am (ha!).  I don't want the simplicity of life with these little ones to pass too quickly.  I love, love, love their littleness. Time to just take a deep breath and not let my worrying about the future cause me to miss the joy of the present.

Did you enter Katrina's Lily Jade bag giveaway?  I kind of hate telling you to enter (as it lowers my chances to win, haha), but who wouldn't want one of their bags?!  And, Katrina is about as beautiful of a model as there is!

How cool are theses little lenses?

I hope you're enjoying a good book, a bit of college football, the beautiful Fall colors or a little R&R this weekend!  We're off to find a pumpkin!

Linking up with Jen.

We Need Courage to Remain Faithful

Do you ever feel like you know exactly what you should do in any given situation, but have a hard time doing it?  Or, are there times you don't really even know what's right?

I feel both a lot.  More so, the former.  Even if I know what to do and am willing to do it, sometimes the road to get there is hard for me to determine.

Then I stumbled upon this in Divine Intimacy, and couldn't not post it here:

We need courage to remain faithful to God's law and the duties of our state -- even at the cost of great sacrifice -- and to endure patiently the difficulties of life.  We need it even more to second the action of God in our soul, to follow faithfully the inspirations of the Holy Spirit, and not be frightened by the trials God makes us undergo.  He is a kind, gentle Master, but at the same time, a very exacting one, because He cannot lead us to sanctity without asking us for all.  And this is just where we most experience our frailty: we feel intuitively what God wants from us, perhaps we see it very clearly, and yet we are not capable, we lack the strength to do it.  This is a great grief for a soul of good will, not yet fully matured.  It is the condition of human weakness which actual grace and the infused virtue of fortitude can do much to relieve, but which they cannot completely cure, acting as they do by means of our limited faculties.  The direct intervention of God Himself is necessary and God does intervene by putting the gift of fortitude into action.

It's up to Him.  We cannot do it alone.  So, for me and for you, I pray for courage!

Caramel Marshmallow Popcorn

Sunday night, my sweet sister-in-law texted me a link to a recipe that I just had to try.  Instantly. This caramel marshmallow popcorn.

It's so easy.  There are six ingredients and it takes less than 15 minutes from start to finish.  That can be both good and bad.

Basically, you make the bag of popcorn (or your own on the stove).
Then, you mix the remaining ingredients on the stove.
When it's smooth and blended, you pour the mixture over the popcorn, and voila!
 Delectable!

Ingredients:
1 package of microwave popcorn, popped
1/2 C. butter
1 C. brown sugar
2 T. light corn syrup
1/2 t. vanilla
12 large marshmallows (or 156 mini marshmallows)

Instructions:
1.  Pop popcorn and remove any unpopped kernels
2.  Melt butter in medium saucepan over low heat.
3.  Add the remaining ingredients.
4.  Turn to medium heat and stir until marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth.
5.  Pour over popcorn and stir until evenly coated.
6.  Store in airtight container.
