John Paul: 31 weeks

How far along? 31 weeks

Total weight gain/loss? I think around 19?

Maternity clothes? Still the same...some maternity, some not.

Sleep? Get up about once/night but it takes a really long to to get to sleep/go back to sleep because of someone moving like crazy in my tummy.

Movement? More and more throughout the day, but like everyone else, still the most at night.

Food cravings/aversions? Nothing new this week.  Food has made me feel a little yucky lately, yet I still manage to eat a lot :)

Gender? Boy

Labor signs?  The BH contractions are fairly often now...but nothing to be concerned about.

What others are saying: I haven't been around many people this week, but at the pumpkin patch, the lady made a comment about having a ton of kids, haha.

What I miss: a full night's sleep and the easy of doing everything I need to throughout the day, but really, it isn't horrible at all!  (sometimes, I just feel the need to write an answer to these silly questions).

What I am looking forward to: having three little boys for Christmas :)

Milestones: Not a lot has been done this week.  We're only eight weeks away and are pretty much prepared.  I know the next two months will fly with the busy days on the ranch coupled with holidays.  John Paul will be here before we know it!

QOTW: 10/11/12

Last night I went for a walk (trying to keep going and going and not get too tired with #3).  When I returned, Carter was taking a bath.  I looked in on him (don't worry, Jeremy was supervising), and he said, "Mommy, it is a weally big pwoblem.  I got a goose egg!"  Poor little guy fell into a chair and had a large knot on the side of his head to show for it.  Funny thing is, on my walk, I had an overwhelming feeling that Carter was hurt...that he had a concussion.  Bizarre.  Thankfully it wasn't that bad, whew!

This morning, Jeremy and I were talking about the goose egg incident more and Carter just kept saying, "It's all my fault."  God bless him.

Last week, Carter unscrewed his milk cup and poured it on the floor as we were eating.  It had been a frustrating long day, and after Carter was reprimanded, Jeremy had a bad mood look on his face.  Carter got in his face, raised his little hands as if he had no clue what was going on and said, "What da problem, Daddy?"

At times Peter doesn't like to eat things one at a time.  Instead, he goes for a whole handful at a time.  After doing just that, I said something along the lines of "Peter has a mouthful."  Carter then leaned over from where he was sitting and said, "Slow down, Peter.  SLOW DOWN."

On our way to Church we were going over the same things we always do: be quiet, we're there to see Jesus, etc.  Carter then looked at me and said, "Mommy, I will meet Jesus someday."

While staying with PaPa and Elley one night last week, Carter discovered some of my brother's old toy trucks.  He was in love, but it was time to go back home.  When they would get ready to head out the door, Carter would run to my mom with his little index finger pointed straight up, and huge eyes, asking, "Just one more vroom, okay?"  Then he would run back to the room with the trucks and scoot them across the floor one time.  I bet the "one more vroom" happened about ten times.

RoRo is really amazing at sending things in the mail.  She doesn't forget a special day, and she makes a lot of ordinary days special for others, too.  So, on our way to Church last week, we picked up our mail.  In it was a package from RoRo with some Fall trail mix and a couple of pumpkin iced cookies.  I gave Carter a bite of the trail mix, and he said, "Yummm.  I bet RoRo loves to eat dis stuff.  I will need to say, thank you RoRo."

Happy Thursday everyone!

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch...

I love Fall.  LOVE it.  I love the feel of the weather getting cooler, the smells of pumpkin flavored goodies and smoke coming out of a chimney, the beauty of the leaves changing...I LOVE it all.  Another one of my favorite aspects of Fall is decorating with pumpkins.

My aunt Beth is the pro at pumpkin decorating.  Last year she told me about a self-pick pumpkin patch she went to where she got pumpkins in every shape, size, and color imaginable.  To top that off, they were cheap -- a whole pick-up load was just $100 for her.  So, at that point, my mom and I (aka Elley) decided we'd make plans for this year...what a fun time for the boys, we thought!

Yesterday, we loaded up the suburban with both boys, clippers, and a back seat clear of anything in order to make room for our loot!  We were dressed in long sleeves, jeans and boots to avoid the stickery (is that a word?) vines and headed to a little place just outside of Dalhart, TX to begin our pumpkin hunting adventure.

Once we arrived, Carter soon realized we were at a FARM - his Heaven.  There were tractors and farm equipment all around.  Pumpkins.  What pumpkins?

Peter just wasn't too interested in anything but being held.

While some go to the pumpkin patch annually for the perfect family photo and others choose pre-picked patches where the kids can enjoy mazes, face-painting and yummy treats, Mom and I had a different (more fun, we thought) plan.

So here is a story in pictures of our day:

It all started out okay.  We were in the wagon ready to navigate our way through the field...

Uh oh, what's wrong with Peter?

He's not really liking this...

Okay, maybe he's hating it...

Carter decides to help Elley take the pumpkins back to the wagon...

Peter is content keeping watch...

Posing for our pumpkin patch picture...

The corn might be a little cooler than the pumpkins...

Trying to hold all I can at once while a huge "pumpkin" is taking up space...

One more photo op...(Carter yelling, "I want to ride dat ATV" in the background)...

Realizing he cannot ride it...

Things aren't so bad...

Carter realizing he cannot hold the clippers either.  What a tough life...

Finally, getting to just stare at the farm equipment.  Well worth the trip!

This has just become a yearly tradition.  Ahh, Fall & family time...life couldn't be better :)
