7 Quick Takes: Churros, Ornaments and a Surprise Gift

It's Friday, and I'm joining with Jen again...
7 quick takes sm1 7 Quick Takes about Christmas card love, bizarre caroling phobias, and a reminder that guests are more important than food

{1} I'm usually late to the party, but have you seen this?  If not, you must watch it.

{2} I saw these churros on The Vault Files, and I think I will give them a go.  The first time I ever had a churro was at Disneyland, and I think it's time to revisit that memory!

{3} I can't tell you why, but this is one of my favorite aspects of our Christmas decorations.  I love the big "noel" - and I hate to put it away every January.  When I was registering for my wedding, I also opted to get Christmas china rather than regular china (the mugs are shown).  I have loved that decision!

{4} Another of my favorite aspects of Christmas are the nativities.  We have a couple, and this one made by Nambe was a gift from my grandmother.  So simple, yet so beautiful.  I still have a few pieces to collect.

{5} We finally got a tree this week and put a few ornaments on it.  When I was growing up, we'd always go cut down our own tree in the canyon on the ranch.  We don't live on the same ranch anymore, nor do we have a canyon, so we got it from a place that sells fresh cut trees.  I love it so much.  While an artificial tree may be a better option, I don't know that I'll ever be able to do it!  And, the boys have made major headway in the tree decorating department.  They're such a big help and they love it.  So fun to see.

Here are all of the boys waiting for the next ornament for the tree.
Does anyone else's treadmill serve as a junk collection area?  That might explain the lack of in-shape-ness for me!

{6} I have no clue why, but I never used to like these little glass ornaments.  However, they are some of my favorites now, and this one right here is the boys absolute favorite.  Any kind of truck, in any form, qualifies as a favorite in this house.
{7} My sweet cousin loves make-up.  I do, too.  You can imagine how fun it was to get a surprise package in the mail from her with Urban Decay's new Naked 3 palette.  Here's the first run at it.  It's a pink/rose based palette and is so pretty.
How's that for a random assortment of thoughts?!  Have the best weekend, and head on over to The Conversion Diary for more fun!
