I love Fall. LOVE it. I love the feel of the weather getting cooler, the smells of pumpkin flavored goodies and smoke coming out of a chimney, the beauty of the leaves changing...I LOVE it all. Another one of my favorite aspects of Fall is decorating with pumpkins.
My aunt Beth is the pro at pumpkin decorating. Last year she told me about a self-pick pumpkin patch she went to where she got pumpkins in every shape, size, and color imaginable. To top that off, they were cheap -- a whole pick-up load was just $100 for her. So, at that point, my mom and I (aka Elley) decided we'd make plans for this year...what a fun time for the boys, we thought!
Yesterday, we loaded up the suburban with both boys, clippers, and a back seat clear of anything in order to make room for our loot! We were dressed in long sleeves, jeans and boots to avoid the stickery (is that a word?) vines and headed to a little place just outside of Dalhart, TX to begin our pumpkin hunting adventure.
Once we arrived, Carter soon realized we were at a FARM - his Heaven. There were tractors and farm equipment all around. Pumpkins. What pumpkins?
Peter just wasn't too interested in anything but being held.
While some go to the pumpkin patch annually for the perfect family photo and others choose pre-picked patches where the kids can enjoy mazes, face-painting and yummy treats, Mom and I had a different (more fun, we thought) plan.

This has just become a yearly tradition. Ahh, Fall & family time...life couldn't be better :)
Ii've already told you this, but these pictures make my day. And you, seriously, should be a model. That picture of you walking across the field the the pumpkins? Magazine quality. No doubt. I'm calling Tyra to see about you being on that modeling show next year. Done.
