Peter vs. The Rabbit (Not Peter Rabbit)

I really love this rabbit.  Well, I both love him and get mad at him.  I love him because Peter spends hours (seriously about three hours a day recently) chasing and luring this bunny over and over again.   And, Peter loves it.  I love watching him.  He is such a precious boy.  And, all he wants to do is touch him!  He came in exasperated on Friday, almost in tears, and he threw his hands in the air saying, "I just want to touch him!"  And, that's where my frustration comes in.  Silly bunny, let the kid touch you...or stop teasing him.

He always asks me for a few carrots as he leaves the house.  Then he gathers grass and weeds.
He carries a little wooden box with him.  I'm assuming he will throw it on the rabbit as the rabbit gets close?

I apparently got way too close with my camera.  I was told to SHHHHH very adamantly.

See, look how close the bunny was.
He continues to wait for him.

Some day, Mr. Rabbit, my boy Peter will touch you.

20/52

This week we've been doing a lot more rabbit hunting, garden prepping, playing with chickens and eating popsicles in the cold, hoping it will bring on the summer.

Carter // 5

Peter // 4
John Paul // 3 - They put poor Big Momma (sometimes they call it Big Daddy just incase they're wrong) on a tiny strip of wood, and she/he stayed...too long.  Too scared to jump.
Sophie // 1 - Can you tell she had a few popsicles?
Genevieve// 6 months - While the siblings were playing, she was helping me say my rosary.

Picnics

The kids have been wanting to eat outside lately...in the evenings.  I've said, "No" many times, but this last week, I decided to say yes...twice.  I know, living on the edge here.  So, I made their bags...

And, yes, I wrote Genevieve's name on Sophie's bag and was to lazy to make another.  Luckily no one can read.

It's amazing how exciting a sandwich, a fruit bar and a few crackers can be when you put them in a brown paper bag.

Oh, this face...
This was Picnic #2...Carter set out the towels.

I don't know about you, but it seems there is a rule here that you aren't allowed to smile if you have sunglasses on.

And, since we eat lunch daily as a family, this might become more of a staple in the warm summer months.  It's a lot less clean up!  And, a lot more fun :)
