Thanks, Aunt Sarah

If you come to our house in the near future (who am I kidding, it will probably look like this for months), you might be a bit turned off by the sidewalk art turned paint-the-house art.  Last week it was chalk.  This week, it was paint from Aunt Sarah.  No worries...it washes off.  BUT, I haven't tried to wash it off yet.  Not because it's extremely beautiful, but because I'm lazy.

And, more than likely, it will happen again as soon as it gets washed.
It's one of those things I could easily put a stop to.  More often than not, I find myself cringing at the messes made, but I've decided that since it does wash off, they can paint their hearts out, as long as they are outside!  Because...they love it!

And, if some unapproving guest pops by, then, well, they'll just have to not approve.
I'll clean it up later :)  I've already tackled all the knobs they turned with paint-filled hands as they were looking for me inside.  Oops!
Honestly, they're just ready for summer and days spent outside in the water.
Until then, you can find them decorating the house in their undies!

  1. I like it. Very welcoming. Just leave it. And leave the welcome wagon dressed in their underwear.

  2. I love this. I recently had a conversation with my mom about "fun moms." She admitted she failed terribly as a "fun mom" (true, she was always stressed), and she encouraged me to not do the same (so last night, we ate dinner on the porch... I know, living large here). Forget those judgey guests; they wished they had fun moms. :)

  3. Love. It. Too often I see a 'mess' rather than a masterpiece. A good friend recently reminded me that messy toddlers make for creative kids. :) With our house on the market, I'm seeing more 'messes' than usual. :)

  4. This is so funny! Messes are hard not to cringe at, but your thought process is spot on. When they're bored with painting, let them have a cleaning party ;)
