Winter Days and the Trouble They Can Bring

I really love looking outside and seeing snow falling.  To me, it's just so peaceful, and it creates a sense of coziness as we're bound to the house to stay warm.  Typically this time of year, I hope each snowfall won't be the last.

However, these days also bring a bit of cabin fever for three little guys I know.  And, when that happens, trouble usually ensues.

Here we've got the tower of chairs.  All is well until someone falls off and hits their head on the metal bed frame.  Needless to say, we've padded that frame now with a little duct tape and foam - lovely.

I'm not so sure we'll get through childhood without a broken bone, but I'm hoping!
There was a time in Carter's life that he made a lot of trouble during his naptime.  For the most part he is past it.  He doesn't always stay in bed, and some days he doesn't even sleep, but I can pretty much be sure that he isn't making a huge mess behind closed doors.  Peter used to be the one I never worried about.  Used to is key.

This past week he has done the following during naps: 1) painted himself a mustache with eyeliner, 2) cut up an electric cord (that was plugged in) with scissors - I thank God for his guardian angels and the rubber handles on those scissors, 3) flooded my parents bathroom and 4) woken up like this:

Tigger is now sleeping in the same room as John Paul, and we may or may not have gotten these shenanigans stopped.

I have a feeling the warmer days will help us wear out some of this crazy boy energy before it manifests into repeat scenarios.  But, we've got a few more months until that happens.

Until then, I'll be updating the blog!

    1. Haha, thank you! I kind of think Peter is the epitome of Winnie the Pooh anyway, so I just love it! And yeah, we had a thousand guardian angels watching over him that day. Gives me chills to think what could have happened.

  3. One of your kids is going to be an engineer. They are always building things, stacking things up to jump off of, etc. And seriously.....the scissors and the cord would have given me a heart attack.

  4. I can totally relate to all of this. I do love the snow when we can get out and play in it. But the weather here has been so crazy that there is more ice than snow. All of us are in the house driving each other nuts!! How many more months of winter?
